Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 22, 2005

Director Geo Santini — whose best known for his visual, and cutting-edge music videos — is becoming Hollywood’s latest directing phenom. Santini’s recent film short Partners, (in conjunction with Alliance Entertainment Group), has caught the attention some of the film industry’s top executives.

Partners — which has been compared to Memento and Reservoir Dogs with an urban and edgy twist — revolves around 3 friends involved in the seedy crime world, and what happens when betrayal, greed, and dishonesty enter the picture.

Aware of the largely competitive film market, Geo Santini devised a strategy to gain the attention of film executives. Santini created Partners as a film short, giving investors a visually stunning sample of what a complete project would resemble. Apparently this young Director’s strategy has paid off, as his film short has sparked a bidding war between major moviemakers.

What caught the attention of industry insiders was Geo Santini’s ability to artfully combine scenes keeping the viewer continuously interested in the film. Viewers watching the short found themselves interested in learning more a bout the characters and where they were going next.

“I feel strongly that a good film will leave you desiring more, while leaving you satisfied at the same time. If you look at the top Director’s in the film industry, that is what they accomplish over and over again,” says Geo Santini.

Geo Santini and Alliance Entertainment Group are very close to announcing a major distribution counterpart for the feature film production of Partners. The feature film promises to be the next cult classic.

The film is set to begin shooting in January of 2006. In the meantime, the film short can be seen at many film festivals, including the The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival on Saturday, October 22, 2005. For more information on Partners, please visit, or contact Terrance Gillum at 323.365.4602 or Sherise Bright at 213.742.9048.

Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) April 13, 2006

The Milwaukee Short Film Festival is seeking submissions for its eighth annual edition. The festival is an award-winning, one-day event June 4, 2006. The final entry deadline is April 22, 2006.

“Following the success of last year’s festival, our first year screening international films, we are looking forward to receiving even more exciting submissions from an even wider range of filmmakers,” says founder Ross Bigley. “We are particularly eager to view the outstanding student and Wisconsin submissions as the festival was initially established to support these filmmakers with a considerable cash prize.”

The Milwaukee Short Film Festival grand prize, a $ 1,000 cash award, recognizes a film that best embodies the spirit of independent filmmaking. The competition is open to short films and videos of all genres including animation. To be eligible for screening, entries must be under 20 minutes in length.

The Milwaukee Short Film Festival is a competitive festival with multiple distinct awards, including recognition for acting, directing and cinematography. A popular Audience Award encourages the crowd to be actively engaged in the screening and festival atmosphere.

Film submission guidelines and forms are available at www.dirtyjobfilms.com/filmfest.asp. The 2005 Milwaukee Short Film Festival was an exciting year – screening shorts from across the U.S. and multiple foreign countries along with staples from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. MSFF was even recognized in MovieMaker Magazine’s Winter 2006 issue as the Best Local Shorts Festival. MSFF is a presentation of Milwaukee production companies, Dirty Job Films and Old Skool Productions, and is funded by local sponsorship. A local festival with an international reach, MSFF is organized and run by Milwaukee filmmakers to give greater exposure to emerging independent and student filmmakers.

As I always said and believe that accountants can work in any industry. The scope and range of this professional is sometimes limitless.

You might see girls or boys waiting for hours in rain for their favorite celebrity just to get a view of them or a signed autograph. But, if you are an accountant and you also have a “Favorite celeb” then things could be other way round! Or may I say, these celebs need an autograph (let say it signature) from you for their movies! Isn’t it interesting? But How?

According to a corporate website, Iron Man 2, which stars actors including Robert Downey Jnr, Samuel L Jackson and Gwyneth Paltrow, is set to take the box office by storm when it opens across the UK on Friday, after winning over critics in the US on its release last month.

And it has been revealed that York-based accountant ‘Garbutt and Elliott’ has invested more than £8m in the movie, on behalf of clients of its wealth management team.

Jeremy Gibbs, director of Garbutt and Elliott wealth management, admitted the investment is unusual, but said such investments are being sought by the business amid the continuing uncertainty in the economy.

The investment in Iron Man 2 follows a financial commitment from Garbutt and Elliott – which performed strongly last year, with a 15 per cent increase in fee income, and almost doubled its office space – to the development of a renewable energy plant in Grimsby, which will create biofuel from crops and produce numerous Eco-friendly by-products including animal feed and bottled gas.

Could This Be Done in Pakistan?

So, if you are an accountant or in a wealth management department of any corporate group, there could be a possibility that a future star need your approval for his/he next blockbuster?

I talked with Mr. Ahsan Raza Khan on behalf of Pakistanacca.com, a finance manager at UBL Asset Management. He said, “In Pakistan, Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan oversee this business and lays down the rules to run the business. So far, asset managers on behalf of their clients, can invest in Money Market and Stocks. Where investment in real estate is also added by SECP for increasing the Investment Avenues”.

So I ask him whether in Pakistan we can see asset management companies are investing in movies? Pakistani movies especially?

“Iron Man 2 is a different story, but yes it is possible that in future SECP could allow the asset managers in Pakistan to invest in Entertainment Business on behalf of their clients”, he said.

Entertainment he said, not movies. Well only time will tell whether SECP could allow such investments and whether our entertainment industry could compel the authorities by impressing with their work for law making.

What do you think? Is our entertainment industry strong enough to capture an eye of SECP Law makers?

Entertainment reporter Tim Estiloz documents Marilyn Monroe’s film legacy as a comedienne and dramatic actress in this broadcast tribute. Marilyn’s abilities as a serious actress were often overlooked… due to her larger then life image as Hollywood’s greatest sex symbol. However, her resume of film work is impressive ranging from the comedic to the tragically dramatic. Clips from nine of her films are featured in this TV report… from her work as a starlet in “All About Eve”… to her iconic performances in “The Seven Year Itch” and “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”… to her final screen role with Clark Gable in “The Misfits”. This report also features censored footage from “The Seven Year Itch” and rare unseen footage from her last – never completed – film, “Something’s Got To Give”. Marilyn’s legacy and beauty lives on in this tribute, which also includes commentary about the undying mutual devotion between Marilyn and ex-husband Joe DiMaggio. Pre-movie picnic crowd. I’ve heard different estimates of the number of people that attend these screenings. I believe the average estimate is 3000+. But that could be way off. The movies are projected on the the side of a mausoleum and if I’m not mistaken, it’s the one where Rudolph Valentino’s remains are.
