Dog River comes to Yorkton for the Awards Gala Tara Spencer-Nairn and Lorne Cardinal, the Dog River police force on Corner Gas, will be the masters of ceremony for the Golden Sheaf Award Gala May 24. They play Karen Pelly and Davis Quinton on the popular CTV show, set in Saskatchewan, which will soon start filming its sixth and final season. Radical Dreamer screened at Festival Radical Dreamer: The Passionate Journey of Graham Spry will be screened Friday afternoon, May 23, less than a month after it makes its national television debut. The screening is free and open to the public. It is a documentary film biography of one of the least known and most influential Canadians of the past century, often called The Father of Canadian Broadcasting for his hugely successful lobby to create a national public radio network in the 1930s. But his influence on Canadian culture and society has been relatively unheralded before the co-production of this 58-minute documentary by White Pine Pictures and Soundings/Steele Inc.
