mFlix to Host ‘Mobile Filmmaking Masters Class’ at Aspen ShortsFest

(PRWEB) March 16, 2005

This year by special arrangement mFlix, the independent mobile film channel – will hold the first in a series of hands-on Mobile Filmmaking Masters Classes for the filmmakers at Aspen ShortsFest in Aspen Colorado.

The Aspen ShortsFest is widely recognized as one of the world’s premiere showcases for short film and video. Aspen ShortsFest is one of only a few festivals worldwide recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences® as able to send its top prize winners to compete for the Oscars ®. Other recognized film festivals include (but are limited to) Cannes Festival International Du Film, Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and The Toronto Worldwide Short Film Festival.

mFlix is the first and largest independent film channel community dedicated to mobile film and animation, and is also the first in the independent film channel to receive national distribution on mobile phones in America, on the Sprint network. mFlix was launched at ‘The World’s Smallest Film Festival’ at CTIA. mFlix is also now seen the United Kingdom on the O2 network.

“Professional outreach programs such as our ‘Mobile Filmmaking Masters Classes’ held in April with Aspen ShortsFest allow us to equip independent filmmakers with the information and tools they need to be involved in the growing and mobile medium” said Juliette Deinum of mFlix. “Rather than simply let the studios and major brands dominate mobile media as they do television and film, we aim for a permanent seat at the table for the independent filmmaker, musician, animator, and artist. mFlix is the pre-eminent distribution channel for these as well as tomorrow’s cutting-edge filmmakers, and while we help them we are planting the seeds for continued high-quality film submissions to mFlix.”
