Short Film Site UnderGroundFilm Hosts ÂÂAll-SonnyBoo-WeekÂÂ
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) January 17, 2005
Long running short film site UNDERGROUNDFILM.ORG is hosting a weeklong ÂÂAll-Sonnyboo WeekÂÂ premiering one new Sonnyboo short film every day. The new short films from Sonnyboo are joining the 30+ short films that have been showing on the Internet site since January 2000. No registration or pay required to watch any of the movies on Undergroundfilm.
ÂÂUndergroundfilm has been around since movies on the web began and theyÂÂre still going strongÂÂ, says Peter John Ross, Producer/Director with Sonnyboo Productions. ÂÂThis site is far better quality presentation than Ifilm or Atomfilms. Who likes to watch commercials or pay to see video in high quality?ÂÂ
Movies set to begin showing on Undergroundfilm from Sonnyboo include the award winning short ALWAYS LATE, Audience Award winner for the 48 Hour Film Project, the scene from the upcoming feature film “Horrors of War,” and several more. Most of the Sonnyboo catalog of short films have been playing on the site since the 6 part BACK OFFICE series of shorts, for which writer/director Peter John Ross was terminated from his brokerage job in 2000.
2005 already begin with the UKÂÂs 3BTV having ÂÂSonnyboo DaysÂÂ where they exclusively played Sonnyboo content for 4 consecutive days. Using the Internet to present and exhibit short form entertainment has been the highest priority for Sonnyboo Productions, as is evident with the award-winning site Sonnyboo.com and the amount of traffic it gets now.
Several Sonnyboo short films are to play at film festivals as varied as the Central Nebraska Film Festival on January 28th, the Cinemaslam screenings in Ann Arbor Michigan Feb 8th, and the Panartist Global Shows at the London Shakespearean Globe theatre England February 28th, which will be simulcast on the web live.
Panartists UK Colin Chapman says, “Award winning film maker Peter John Ross is a versatile artist with more than over a hundred film and music in his curriculum vitae. From comedy to drama Ross’s success resides in an open quirky narrative and a very inventive plot providing actors with loads of support and free expression in his entertaining and arty films.”
Undergroundfilm has been a pioneer with presenting web video and short films via the Internet since 1999. As a non-profit organization, Undergroundfilm is focused on how to best to serve the twin communities of creative filmmakers and the audience that wants to view their work. Undergroundfilm is building a framework for content creators and owners to get their work where they want it most: in front of an audience. Alexandra Rose Rieger, teen Musician, Actress (“Akeelah and the Bee”) and Youth Ambassador for âIn A Perfect World’ Foundation created and hosted a star studded event at The Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House (RMH) for children and families. This two-evening event was called âA Star In You,’ which provided a “fun and safe platform for children to star in their own variety show,” explains Rieger. An article about this event is expected in November”s issue of Teen Vogue.

On the first night, after the children and their families enjoyed ice cream, they were able to stand in the spot light as they explored and shared their inner stars. The footage was captured by Josh Sands, CEO of Hollywood Film and Acting Academy and highlights were edited in a short film. The second night, the children and their families walked the red carpet with other teen celebrities as they were celebrated as “stars” in their very own film.

Alexandra Rose Rieger, teen philanthropist, has been involved with fund raising and supporting The Ronald McDonald House for several years. They play a key role for families nationwide by providing a home away from home for children and their families while critically ill children undergo treatment at local hospitals. Rieger is currently working on several projects including an upcoming ep which will be released in December 2008. In contemplating possible events as a Youth Ambassador, she drew inspiration from her upcoming singles. “Harmony,” which explores the passion of peace and the power in unity. Her song “Fairy Tale,” shaped the fairytalesque decorations with plenty of red, gold and royal blue colors; as well as stars, balloon bouquets and featuring real red carpet on premiere night. Mama and Paparazzi were also on hand to capture the keepsake memories of their brave cherished ones, most donning smiles. A precious commodity that often is lost amidst steely resolve during difficult times of treatment and recovery.
