Most people these days use the internet as a good way to get the word out about some product or other. If the product is new to the market or is perhaps revamped, advertising it in this way is the fastest way to draw attention to it. There are companies who can produce some rather wonderful short films to market the goods and, if it is done in such a way that it stirs some interest, the selling company gets exactly what they have paid for. Take a look at ‘Production services’ or ‘commercial production’ in a good search engine to see which companies offer this service.

This kind of company is really a mini film maker since all the values that are in full length movies apply here too. There is pre-production and post production which takes up an inordinate amount of time if the location is to be somewhere out-of-state or even country. Post production also takes time since the right music may have to be composed or some research done on music already in existence.

Most people do not consider the music in their short ads but it is this that could make the product unforgettable. Much as the phrase ‘where is the beef?’ was coined to advertise burgers some time ago music really touches people in ways that they remember the product that was advertised when it was played. Therefore, a lot of attention has to be paid to this detail.

They can also produce training videos for larger companies who want their staff to follow the same criteria whenever they have to deal with customers. Although most people are friendly and informative when dealing with the public, they should have the same routine if complaints are to be cut to a minimum. By producing film where difficult customers are seen to be creating a nuisance; the team can advise on how to handle this situation which should meet up with the requirements of the company. This overall corporate approach to the paying customer is what they are after and it can also extend to other departments too. Indeed, staff and personnel often respond much better to situations when they have seen it demonstrated on film and the movie can be shown at regular intervals to keep the standards up.

Not all media companies can produce this kind of product of course, so it is imperative that the buyer does some research beforehand. Comparing the films that they have already produced is one way and, naturally, price could be a major factor. This will depend on the actors used to produce the piece since the more famous an artist is, the higher the rate will be. However, some corporate films use the personnel in situ to show that this is real people doing real work.

Taking a look to see which companies advertise online is a clever and fast way to find a company which can produce just the right film for just the right price.

Is there any one place on the map where your senses can be sufficiently tingled to mentally transport you to any city or country on the globe? Ask this question of Hollywood producers and they may well provide Quebec, Canada’s largest province, as an appropriate answer.

In recent years, Quebec, with its wealth of cultural and architectural heritage, classical European style and diverse landscape, has adopted the guise of many cities worldwide under the creative eyes of those in the film industry. Quebec alludes to cities of the past, present and future, evident in the range of film genres employing its scenic qualities.

In 2007 the auteur-driven I’m Not There presented the Quebec city of Brigham as 1960s Dylan territory. Montreal played Minsk in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in 2008. Director Steven Spielberg chose Montreal to double as Marseilles in his film Catch Me if You Can and perhaps, most impressively, Quebec donned the mask of the Earth’s core in Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

India, Beirut, Scotland and New York are amongst Quebec’s other personas. The aforementioned attributes, together with Quebec’s technologically advanced Visual Effects industry and the ease of access to Canada from Hollywood makes the area a popular choice for film producers who would otherwise be required to travel to the ‘real’ Europe and beyond for their productions.

Fans of the cult novel On the Road by Jack Kerouac are doubtless aware that Jose Rivera has adapted the story for the big screen under the direction of Walter Salles and is due for release this year. Jack Kerouac himself, real name Jean-Louis Kerouac, was born to a French Canadian family and it therefore seems fitting that Quebec’s city of Hull should provide the setting for the film of his novel. In this instance, Quebec pretends to be 1940s working class Denver.

In addition to Hollywood’s ardour for the province, Quebec boasts its own film industry with its own Jutra Awards ceremony. The majority of these productions are filmed in the Quebecois French language and often prove to be more successful than Hollywood blockbusters with the provincial natives who are keen to preserve their mother tongue.

The film Incindies from Quebecois French director Denis Villeneuve, where Montreal is in fact acting simply as Montreal, is nominated in the Best Foreign Film category at this year’s Oscars ceremony. If you have been inspired by any of your favourite film settings to visit foreign shores then perhaps Quebec is a good starting point, a temporary backdrop to your own life.

As the last decade of the nineteenth century approached, the world had photography and we have all seen how basic photographs were taken in films portraying the Wild West in the USA. What did not exist were the moving pictures which later gave us that portrayal. There was theatre and dances scripts written and performed live in front of an audience. Such entertainment was centuries old but a whole new world was dawning and just over a century on, it is all pervasive.

The first attempt at moving photographs may well have been when an attempt was made to discover whether a horse’s gallop ever involved all four hooves off the ground so a series of photographs were taken by a series of cameras with a trip wire touched by the hooves themselves to take the shots. Those shots were put together, a form of film.

Shortly afterwards a camera was developed that could take ten photographs per second using a film that was perforated. People began to see the possibilities and wrestled with the problems of actually achieving action until a device developed in Thomas Edison’s laboratory succeeded in 1891. However it was a device which involved the viewer putting his eye to the peep hole; one viewer a time was hardly likely to be a commercial success. So how did the medium that has developed so much to give us live news’ coverage, cult movies and blockbusters emerge?

Well, other innovators and inventors were also looking to produce something and the first successful showing to an audience in fact took place in Paris just four years’ later, two French brothers, the Lumiere brothers having created something that not only took and developed film, it could also project that film. That gave impetus to other inventors and very soon there were a series of such pieces, generally working on a standard sixteen shots per second.

The film films produced tended to be fairly boring in terms of their content it was the equipment itself that was the exciting element. Nothing of any great length was produced in the early days. Viewing for the audience meant a series of very short films often of everyday life, but from different parts of the world, largely documentary based. A whole show may not last more than half an hour and that show might be the only option for weeks until a new set of films was available and the process began again.

Imagine the contrast between that, the expectant audience waiting for a change in the content as eagerly as a century later, the cinema addict awaits the release of the latest cult movies. It was the only visual alternative then other than concerts and plays performed by a travelling troupe or singing and playing within the family at home. There was much progress to be made but the media and film revolution has begun.

It’s a lonely boring day, the dvd rental shop is closed and you dont have enough energy to visit the nearest cinema hall. So, what you do now? Download latest movies over the internet and watch them? Oh Yeah! Seems like a good idea! You hurridely open your computer, search google for downloading free movies, you land up on a site, and just when you click “Download” the website starts asking for money, credit card details, where do you live, and how many dogs you have, etc, etc. Being frustrated and rebuked you close your computer, and go off to sleep. This is called waste of energy, time, and in some cases, money.

Isn’t there any solution to this problem?

Yes, there is! A couple of months ago a new website has been launched, it’s name is Gingle (www.gingle.co.cc). Now what’s new in that? The answer is everything. Unlike other movie downloading websites which charges you 15$ -16$ for downloading latest flicks and 8$ -9$ for downloading older counterparts, Gingle does’nt charge you anything!! Nor this site asks for any user registration, etc.

For downloading movies what you have to do is to just visit Gingle, go to download section, select your movie, and click the download button, save the movie to your computer and when download completes kick back, watch and relax!!. Can there be anything more easy and simple than that?

Gingle has the best aspects of a movie website:

1- NO CREDIT CARD REQUIRED – Perhaps the first good reason why anyone should download movies from gingle. So, say good-bye to those websites which require you to enter your credit card details and deprieve you of your hard earned cash in the name of downloading movies.

2- LATEST MOVIES availiable – The Second best reason for downloading movies from gingle. Gingle ensures that it’s users get quality, free latest hollywood movies for download free of cost, so dont be surprised to see latest hollywood flicks on it’s download page, just after 2-3 days of their release.

3- NO ACCOUNT, NO FUSS – It is normal for people to forget their username or password, so for added bonus you dont even have to register with them, recieve their news letter etc, etc. Put into another words, visit, click, download and enjoy!

4- NO ADS – like other websites filled with advertising, popups, animation ads, etc gingle gives you a respite with it’s clean looks and no ad policy.

5- CAN’T FIND? REQUEST THEM – You cannot find your favourate movies? request for them in the movie request form, and see them added for download.

6- GINGLE TOOLBAR- Gingle wants it’s users to be updated with the movies being added to Gingle, so it provides a nifty toolbar known as “Gingle bar” this toolbar is a lightweight toolbar which not only provides you alerts on the new movies being added but also provides you links to the movie download section. The toolbar requires atleast FireFox 2.0 or Internet Explorer 6.0 (default with Windows Xp).

So, always remember that movies can always be downloaded from http://www.gingle.co.cc

And do tell about it to every idiot who goes around saying “Movies cant be downloaded for free from the internet”

visit.click.download.enjoy! – that’s what we believe in!

If you want to watch Hollywood movies online like I do then you’ll probably be interested in a way that you can watch movies whenever you please. It’s not that hard to do these days. You can sit at home in your own room with your computer or even running a connection to your big screen TV. You don’t have to spend all that much money compared with going to the cinema or renting a DVD. By having access to online movies you can actually watch a new film online soon after it’s been released by simply downloading it or streaming it directly to your computer.

One excellent aspect of this is that you’re not only limited to watching Hollywood movies online but you can also watch movies from all over the world. If you want you can organize your movie watching by countries or, what’s increasingly popular, by categories. If you understand another language you can watch a program from a foreign country. Movies from other countries these days are also routinely supplied with subtitles in English or in another popular language.

People are starting to become aware of the fact that what they are able to access through their computer far out performs what they can get through their local cable TV station or even through a satellite TV program. The beauty of the online services are that a person can download movies legally, watch them via streaming, or download to save for later, can view the movie in high definition, and are not limited to watching just movies online but can watch television programs, sports events, and other popular shows.

And don’t think because you’re streaming movies through the Internet you can only watch movies on your PC. It very easily to adapt your computer to a connection with your TV so you can stream shows directly to a large screen. With a wireless adapter you can also stream without a cable connection.

Despite what you might think these services do not cost an arm and a leg. They’re available for about the same price it might cost to go out to the movies once a month. The beauty of an online movie service is that you can watch a movie from any genre you’re interested in, whether it is action, thrillers, romance, comedy, horror films, or any other category of movie you can think of. You can even access classics that aren’t that easy to find these days. And if you want to watch new releases you can also do so without having to subscribe to cable service such as HBO. The only thing you need is in an Internet connection capable of high speed, your computer, and the freely available software.

In the 1880s, the American stage was dominated by ‘Vaudeville shows’ which was cherished by the residents of North America. Being the primitive genre of variety entertainment, these shows differed from burlesque or minstrelsy. But as entrepreneurs started experimenting with their movie-making skills, these shows lost all their glory.

In 1910, director D.W.Griffith and his troop started filming in downtown Los Angeles. While searching for a more apt location, they found it in a village miles northward — ‘Hollywood’. The first movie shot by Griffith in Hollywood was In Old California, a melodrama of California. Thorough research work identified a number of points which helped in establishing Hollywood movies. But it was Griffith’s ‘Birth of a Nation’ which was the pioneering movie.

Gradually, with the growth of Hollywood industry, films were exhibited in Nicholodeon halls. Ambitious people in the production side emerged as controlling heads of movie studios. They aided the internationalization of films to reduce American provincialism. In no time, the industry produced about 400 movies a year, with an audience of 9,00,00,000 Americans per week.

The American studios, however, confronted major difficulties when their sound productions were rejected in various foreign language markets. Also, the synchronization technique was too primitive. In the 1930s, parallel language versions of films were produced to provide a befitting solution to the problem. With rapid advancement of synchronization, dubbing also became more realistic.

During the Golden Age of Hollywood (1920-1950), the film industry was at the peak of its success. Adherence to the formula of western slapstick comedy was the formula and musical animated cartoon contributed to it. The same creative team worked on films made by the same studio.

The most renowned studios were Warner Bros., MGM, RKO, etc. Each studio had its own specialized characteristics, a trait not seen today. Yet, each film was unique in its own flavor, since the moviemakers were all artists and creative people. The release of classics that enriched the industry, were Wutheirng Heights, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, and such other masterpieces. In the late 1940s, the separation of the production of films from their exhibition and the advent of television led to the decline of the studio system.

The postclassical cinema gave birth to directors from a new school of thought. They introduced new filming techniques and strategies and developed upon the prevailing ones. Films like Jaws, Godfather, Psycho, and other modern blockbusters have no doubt added a new dimension to Hollywood. With independent films, another new generation of moviemakers came forward with films which were often innovative, critical, unconventional, and contradictory. However, for their considerable financial success and crossover into popular culture, they have become a very influential part of the Hollywood mainstream films.

With the passage of generations, directors with their exclusive style and innovations have come up with intellectually stimulating and thought-provoking creations, making the history of Hollywood movies interesting as well as amazing.

Road to ‘Oz’ may lead Johnny Depp to Michigan
Michigan’s biggest Hollywood movie project yet — a $ 105-million production at a huge new studio in Pontiac — has won approval for a $ 40-million tax credit that alone comprises more than 60% of all credits for 26 projects approved in the last six months of 2010.
