VooDooDog® shortlisted for TCM Short award with ‘Ashes’

(PRWEB) November 3, 2005

London based VooDooDog, run by David Z.Obadiah and Irish brothers Paul and Noel Donnellon, have been shortlisted for the Turner Classic Movies Short Film Competition with their live-action short film “Ashes” Directed by Corinna Faith and Produced by Tracy Bass.

“Ashes” tells the story of a man who travels to Anfield to scatter his father’s ashes, along with his own son who seems to have an opinion on everything. Despite the bickering, the two have a close relationship and the son seems to be more practical than the father, especially when it comes to solving the problem of what to do with the ashes, seeing as Anfield is shut.

The Award Ceremony will take place at this year’s 49th Times bfi London Film Festival, in the TCM sponsored Short Cuts and Animation strand.

The top 6 short-listed films will be screened at the National Film Theatre on the South Bank, London as part of the Time’s bfi London Film festival. All finalists will also have their short film shown in scheduled film screenings during the Festival. All the shortlisted films will also be aired on TCM.

The judging panel this year includes director Gurinder Chadha (“Bend it Like Beckham”,”Bride & Prejudice”), actor Alan Rickman, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren and producer/director Stephen Woolley.

VooDooDog, recently nominated for an Emmy®, have just completed a series of Idents for SKY Movies, featuring CGI talking popcorn and are in Post-production on their live-action/CGI music video for Mark Owen.
